Coming off a record month of sales in April, Porsche Cars North America announced today their best May sales month to date (3,928 Porsches sold, an increase of 38% over last year) and the second best month ever. So far, year-to-date, PCNA has delivered 17,609 Porsches.
“Our two-door sports cars are still the heart and soul of the Porsche brand and of our entire model range,” said Detlev von Platen, president and CEO, Porsche Cars North America, Inc. “The Boxster, Cayman and 911 accounted for 45 percent of all new-car sales in May. We’re pleased with this healthy sales mix and are pushing for another strong sales year.”
The Cayenne Continues As the Top Seller
PCNA delivered 1,765 of the sports SUVs in May – a 50 percent increase over 2012. The latest versions of the Cayenne – the GTS, Diesel and Turbo S models – led the way. Also hot in May were the recently-introduced Boxster and Cayman models, both of which were up significantly over last year. The 911 line also sold well, with 895 models retailed, up two percent over a record-setting 2012. The 911 is up 13 percent for the year.
You might note that the Panamera sales were significantly down. This is due to very low inventory as Porsche prepares to launch the updated 2014 Panamera model line this fall.
