Porsche’s North American sales folks are celebrating this weekend, and not just for Independence Day. June 2019 marks a record month for PCNA, moving a whopping 5,205 units, which is an all time record for any June in history. While many other companies are reporting decreases in sales, an industry average of about 3%, Porsche is selling more units than ever before. PCNA’s sales are up 2.8% across the first 6 months of 2019.
“We are delighted by the strong performance in the first half of the year. June marked the third consecutive month that our dealers delivered more than 5,000 vehicles – a record for Porsche in the U.S.,” said Klaus Zellmer, President and CEO of PCNA. “We attribute this success, in part, to the much anticipated, refreshed Macan, which arrived in dealerships in June.”
As you can see in June’s sales chart above, Macan sales are doing the lion’s share of the work, accounting for just over half of all Porsche sales in the U.S. market. Cayenne sales have rebounded from the lows of last Summer, when the generational transition was taking place. Meanwhile, Panamera sales, 718 sales, and 911 sales are down significantly. This can partially be explained by the transition between 991.2 and 992 models, as production has wound down on the former and deliveries are just beginning for the latter.
Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) sales in the U.S. totaled 2,101 vehicles in June.
