Porsche Cars North America, Inc. today announced the highest sales month in the history of the company with sales of 4,032 vehicles in the month of April. This compares to 3,437 vehicles sold in April 2012, or an increase of 17 percent. Year to date, PCNA has delivered 13,681 vehicles in the U.S., up 29 percent over last year’s total (10,596).
The Cayenne continues to lead sales with 1750 delivered in April vs. 1376 in during the same month last year (a 27% increase). The Cayenne Diesel is selling strongly, accounting for 29% of overall Cayenne Sale. The new Boxster and Cayman models are up over 350% from last year with total sales of 2,252. Expect this number to increase even more next month as the new Cayman gets into more and more dealers.
“This is the first time in history that Porsche has delivered more than 4,000 cars in one month in the United States – which can mainly be attributed to a very attractive and young model line-up,” said Detlev von Platen, President and CEO, Porsche Cars North America, Inc. “We are on track to have another very successful year, as long as the current U.S. economic situation continues to improve.”
