Porsche Design has had a hand in some interesting projects to say the least. They have designed everything from an Olympic medal winning sled to the 28′ Feerless Yacht. It’s safe to say that a large majority of the products made in conjunction with Porsche Design are high on the cool factor. However, the C SEED 201 LED TV is off the charts ridiculously cool. The video below is hosted by Brightcove. As a result, it’s Flash based. If you can’t view it via email or on your mobile device, visit this post on the C SEED 201 LED TV designed by Porsche Design to view it directly on our site.
According to an article in Elite Traveler Magazine,
“In its initial state, C SEED 201, the world’s largest outdoor television, is a flattened piece of concealed black metal in a circular hole in the ground. Its transformation takes place in 40 silent seconds, as a tower and seven panels emerge from the outlet and unfold like a steel origami structure. The result is a 15 foot adjustable pillar that supports a sleek, 201-inches LED screen. Global Bright Group, which specializes in LED screens, partnered with Porsche Design Studio to ensure that high luminosity images are clearly viewable despite direct sunlight.
The waterproof TV can be custom installed in any terraced or grass surface. A 270-degree rotation, three-way audio system including 15 speakers and wireless remote control make viewing convenient from any angle or distance.”
I’m quite sure I haven’t wanted something this bad since we had to give back the 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S press car last fall. At a reported price tag of $810,000, I’ll be wanting for a long, long time…
