Patrick Long’s love of Porsches runs deep. He has 911s from nearly every decade of production. He’s raced Porsches at Le Mans, and currently he’s racing a 911 in the Pirelli World Challenge. When the time came for Project Cars 2 to bring Porsche into their game, the list of drivers to consult was probably pretty short. Not many people have both Patrick’s breadth of racing experience and depth of Porsche-specific knowledge. From 356s through the latest GT cars, Patrick has owned and raced many of them.
It seems that the floodgates are opening after Porsche’s long-term exclusive contract with EA ended. Porsches have come to Forza, and are coming to Gran Turismo Sprint. There is even talk of virtual factory drivers who will appear at Le Mans. Project Cars 2 is continuing this trend, and claims to included the largest real track roster of any racing game. The video above, which serves to announce Porsche’s inclusion in the game, shows legendary Porsche racing cars ranging from the 911 GT1 and 962, to the 935 and 936, and even modern racers like Long’s own PWC GT class car.
Project Cars 2 is available for Pre-Order now, with several available collector packages with unique additional vehicles. The game will be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC at the time of its release.
