British Touring Car Champion Andrew Jordan has driven many, many fast cars. However, after a few laps in a 1989 962C that gave Porsche its final victory in the World Sports Car Championship (before the 919 did it again last year) Jordan said the 962 has, “taken the trophy of the fastest car I’ve ever driven.” With 770 hp pushing only 2116 lbs around the track, it’s no wonder.
Watch the video above from Goodwood Road & Racing as Jordan pushes the 962 around a much too small traffic. Between the horsepower and the boost, this is a race car meant for bigger, longer tracks. Jordan talks us through his experience with great narration until he begins to really push. Once the turbo really kicks in Jordan goes quiet and it’s just the track and the 962C’s magical exhaust note.
