I’d like to start by making it known that it is a shame Chris Harris’ stuff has been moved from YouTube to a native video player on the Top Gear website. Mostly because this has made it so much harder for me to become aware of his awesome videos when they come out. This particular video was released last month, and I wouldn’t have known about it if I hadn’t made it a point to check for new Chris Harris content on their site. Previously, it was easy for me to subscribe to Chris’ channel and I’d get a notification when he released new videos. I miss that. Hopefully Top Gear will get this stuff up on YouTube eventually, because it’s worth displaying there.
In any event, Porsche invited a few people to South Africa to test out the new 911 Turbo at the newly renovated Kyalami track. This video is the result of that trip, and Harris seems to be enjoying himself behind the wheel of the big-power 911. He goes on to call the Turbo ‘somewhat of an enigma’, which does make sense with his following argument. Cameraman Neil makes a great display of the Lava Orange beauty, and Chris does what he does best, flinging the car around the track with all four wheels scrabbling for grip. He calls the 991.2 Turbo a bit “cold”, but then goes on to call it “the best all around sports car on sale”, which seems pretty high praise to me!
