The Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta, also known as One Porsche Drive, plays the part of Porsche Cars North America’s headquarters (and the Avengers compound). As part of the massive immersive Porsche, er, well, Experience, the company has a small museum with a constantly rotating cast of cars from P-car past. We’ve been to visit the little museum a handful of times, and are always blown away by the level of cars on display.
The current display at PEC ATL is called “Colors Of Porsche” and it is an homage to the company’s extremely vast and varied color palette over the decades. Color is, and always has been, important to the Porsche story. That’s why it’s so disappointing that so many customers choose to order their cars in greyscale. There are dozens of exquisite and eye-catching color options, and you want it in silver? Come on! Live a little!
Porsche has always offered some great colors as regular options on their sports cars, sedans, and SUVs alike, but if those are too staid for you, there’s always the Paint To Sample or Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur programs to choose from. Hundreds of color options have been made available to customers over the years, and they can usually go hog wild. Our own 1976 912E, for example, was special ordered with Talbot Yellow paint outside and Oxblood cloth interior. You can really do anything you want.
