The goal with this Porsche is to drive it to the track, compete, and then drive it home, and that’s exactly what this German owner does with his 964. This Turbo has been in his ownership for 21 years, and it’s been constantly evolving into the track machine you see here. He has it tuned up exactly the way he wants it. It’s fast, visceral, and it sounds fantastic. It is pretty obvious that very little on this 911 has not been changed or modified in some way, as the interior is designed for sport, the wider lightweight wheels for grip and low rotational mass, the giant rear wing for as much downforce as you can handle. It’s an interesting visual package, but one that certainly works quite well.
The owner of this Porsche started a business tuning Volkswagen Beetles, and all Beetle owners aspire to an air-cooled 911, don’t they? He certainly did, and ended up with a 1989 930. A few years later, he got this 964 Turbo and started modifying it. Now that the Porsche is exactly where he wants it, he picked up a 964 Carrera 2 to fettle and tinker with in the garage. Because the 964 bug has hit him hard, he decided to start a business dedicated to the 964 chassis as well. He just loves the 964 becauseĀ “You get the spirit of the old car with the drivability of a modern car.” It’s hard to disagree with that.
