In 2017, Porsche sold an unprecedented 8,249 units in Canada, up 17% over the previous year. If things keep going as they have in 2018 thus far, they could be on track for an even stronger 2018. Across the first four months of the year, Porsche Cars Canada has seen a 4% increase in total unit sales, while Panamera sales are registering higher than they’ve ever been.
Like their US counterparts, Canadian Cayenne sales are down slightly as the new Cayennes start to roll out nationwide, but unlike the US, Macan sales slowed slightly in April of 2018 compared to the prior year. Despite the slight dip in Macan sales, Canada’s dealer network moved a total of 835 units in April, an impressive month.
Marc Ouayoun, President and CEO, Porsche Cars Canada, “The iconic 911 sports car achieved its best April sales, while the Panamera model line registered its best single month ever. As we change gears and look to a new month, we eagerly await the return of the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama for rounds 3 and 4 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario, on May 19th and 20th.”
Perhaps even more exciting than their new car sales numbers, Canadian dealerships have moved 22% more Certified Pre-Owned units than they had last year. There are a lot of new Porsche owners in Canada these days, and that only bodes well for the brand’s continued success.
